Zé António motors to Racing

UEFA Cup entrants Real Racing Club Santander have signed Portuguese centre-back Zé António from VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old former A. Académica de Coimbra player spent the latter half of last season on loan at Turkish side Manisaspor and is looking forward to a new challenge in the Spanish top flight. "Little by little I hope to help my new team when the new season starts soon," the defender said. Having finished sixth last season, Racing will enter the UEFA Cup in the first round.
